About John

John has practiced commercial real estate for over 18 years in the Southeast and worked with some of the largest property owners, national retailers, and secured large government leases.  John began his real estate career with a regional commercial company, then worked as Managing Director for a national commercial firm office.

John joined Strategic Sites in 2022 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.  His background in restaurant, tenant and landlord work provide a strong framework and range of opportunities for continued growth and success.  He continues to perform site selection, investment, and leasing services with a focus on Northeast, Florida and Chattanooga, Tennessee; being licensed in Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.

 During his career, John has completed transactions in large scale multifamily, land for development, multi-tenant strip center leasing and sales, multi-tenant office sales and leasing, and numerous restaurants.  John has secured leases with an extensive list of national retailers and continues to maintain those relationships.  Completed transactions include tenants such as Edward Jones, Domino’s Pizza, Hungry Howie’s, 84 Lumber, Johnson Controls, Dollar Tree, AT&T, and many others.  John has been a multi-million dollar producer every year since 2003 and enjoys both landlord and tenant representation.  He has closed transactions with a value of over $250,000,000.

John is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC with a degree in Business and Economics and is a low country native.  After graduation, he spent 7 years with Merrill Lynch and managed offices in NY, CT, TN, GA and AL.  His father, Ken Jewell, practiced commercial real estate in SC.  John is married with 2 children,; Alise and Caroline.  He and his wife, Amanda, enjoy boating and traveling whenever possible.
